Paris, Part 2

Starting with the Paris, Part 1 post from yesterday, this is going to be a series of posts about my time in Paris.  I made the decision in December 2011 to fulfill a lifelong dream of studying French in Paris at the Sorbonne.  Once I made the decision, everything seemed to just fall into place.  Within three weeks, I had a place to live and an appointment at the French Consulate for my student visa.  By the end of January, I was in Paris.  I took an intensive language class for five hours a day, which meant that with homework time, it was a full-time job.

I had a fantastic time in Paris, had some slight emotional bumps and some cultural differences from moving my entire life to a foreign country, which I’ll share.  I didn’t do regular blog posts since I just really didn’t have the time, but I’m going to do a recap in this series, as well as share all the wonderful pictures I took.  I know I’m a good photographer, but Paris is so gorgeous, it’s almost impossible not to get a good picture.  Enjoy.

Paris, Part 1

Since I just returned from five months in Paris, I thought I would share some of my pictures from the gorgeous City of Light.  I had a phenomenal time studying French at the Sorbonne and exploring just about every part of the city.  I went to places that I lot of locals never go to, at least according to some people I spoke to.  I’m still processing the final pictures, since I just returned five days ago and I’m still a little jet-lagged.  I’ll post more as I get them done.

Welcome to My Lifestyle Blog

Welcome to my lifestyle blog.  I decided to reinvent my travel blog and expand the scope to include everything that encompasses my life–travel, food, fashion, art, home and entertaining.  This blog is a reflection of who I am and how I create and live my life.  Since I have such a wide range of interests, this blog may seem a bit like an acid trip, or at least a bit incongruous.  Yes, I use the word incongruous in my everyday life–that’s just who I am.  And yes, I know it sounds a bit pretentious, but then so does pretentious.

I’ve included all my photo galleries from my road trip in 2009 and my pictures from my baking and cooking adventures in 2009 and 2010, though I have not included the posts that went along with them, as I wanted a fresh start on my new website, even if the name is the same, at least for the moment.  If you would like the recipes for any of the food pictures, please contact me.
